Mr. Corish asked the Minister for Education whether he has received [1125] a copy of the recent document prepared by the Federation of Irish Secondary Schools advocating the setting up of better facilities for educational research in this country; and whether he has any comment to make on the policies advocated in this document.

Minister for Education (Dr. Hillery): Yes. A research bureau was set up three years ago in the Department. It has since collaborated with the Irish National Teachers' Organisation and with one of the Training Colleges in several projects. It is my intention that it continue to pursue research in accordance with our needs.
