Dáil Éireann - Volume 195 - 17 May, 1962

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Radio Éireann Symphony Orchestra.

14. Mr. Treacy asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if the Radio Éireann Symphony Orchestra can be disbanded without his consent.

Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (Mr. Hilliard): Strictly, my consent would not be necessary, but as long as Radio Éireann derives a substantial part of its income from licence fees or State grants I would expect the Authority to consult me before taking an important decision of this kind.
