7. Mr. Tierney asked the Minister for Agriculture the approximate length of time which will be required for the completion of the proposed experiments in the breeding of Charollais cattle, which are to be carried out by his Department.

Mr. Smith: While my Department hopes to be able to import a limited supply of Charollais semen from Britain for cross-breeding trials, arrangements have not yet been concluded in the matter. Preliminary results of such trials would not be available for at least three years.
