Dáil Éireann - Volume 191 - 20 July, 1961 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rathdown (Dublin) Housing Needs. Mr. Cosgrave Mr. Cosgrave 14. Mr. Cosgrave asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the need for more houses in the Rathdown area of County Dublin; what plans the Dublin County Council have for additional houses there, and the location of each such scheme; when work will commence on these schemes; and what work is at present in progress on any schemes in the area. Mr. Blaney Mr. Blaney Mr. Blaney: I understand from Dublin County Council that there is a need for further houses in some areas in Rathdown. A site has been acquired and detailed plans are being prepared for a scheme of 88 houses at Dundrum. It is expected that work on the scheme will begin early next year. The question of acquisition of a site for a scheme at Ballyboden is being examined. There are schemes of 34 and 28 houses, respectively, in progress at Stillorgan and Shankill and I understand that the possible need for further houses at these centres for which sites are available is being kept under review.
