Miss Hogan asked the Minister for Local Government if his attention has been called to the fact that the Galway County Council have decided to sell a plot of ground at Killaan, County Galway, to a purchaser for £65 notwithstanding the fact that a sum of £80 has been offered by another person; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Mr. Blaney: I have received a proposal from the Galway County Council to dispose of a plot of land at Killaan, Woodlawn, Co. Galway. The resolution of the county council to dispose of the land in question is not in accordance with the procedure relating to the disposal of surplus land laid down in Section 83 of the Local Government Act, 1946, and the matter has been referred back to the county council.
