Dáil Éireann - Volume 181 - 10 May, 1960 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Width of Land Commission Roads. Mr. Johnston Mr. Johnston 26. Mr. Johnston asked the Minister for Lands if he will take steps to ensure that all future roads made by the Land Commission will be of a minimum width of sixteen feet so as to facilitate their being taken over for repair and maintenance by the local authority. Mr. Moran Mr. Moran Mr. Moran: I am having this suggestion examined by the Land Commission. I should add that the limited user of such by-roads, particularly those serving merely a few allotments, would scarcely justify the increased expenditure involved in adopting a minimum width of sixteen feet in all cases. Mr. Sweetman Mr. Sweetman Mr. Sweetman: Will the Minister ensure that the Land Commission will lay down a proper foundation for their new roads, which would be far more beneficial? An Ceann Comhairle Patrick (Clare) Hogan An Ceann Comhairle: Sin ceist eile. Mr. Moran Mr. Moran 885 [885] Mr. Moran: Is the Deputy interested in a particular bog road? Mr. Sweetman Mr. Sweetman Mr. Sweetman: No, but he is interested in roads into holdings in county Kildare. Dáil Éireann 181 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. Width of Land Commission Roads.
