54. Mr. Rooney asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether a new scheme of grants and loans has been prepared for the benefit of hotel owners who wish to improve their premises, especially for the tourist trade; and if he is aware that improvements and extensions are being held up pending details of a scheme.

Mr. J. Lynch: Certain proposals about additional incentives for the development of hotel accommodation are at present under examination by my Department in consultation with the Department of Finance. An announcement in the matter will be made as soon as possible.
