Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Industrial Courts Act, 1919: Re-enactment of Section.

50. Mr. Desmond asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will consider introducing legislation to re-enact section 10 of the Industrial Courts Act, 1919, which was repealed in this country in 1946, so as to enable manual workers employed by State Departments to have their conditions of employment investigated by the Labour Court.

Minister for Industry and Commerce (Mr. J. Lynch): I do not consider it necessary to introduce legislation which would enable the Labour Court to investigate the wages and other employment conditions of manual workers employed by the State.
