15. Dr. Browne asked the Minister for Finance whether Republican Loan Bonds issued in America in 1920/21 and still outstanding will be redeemed on request by the Government.

Dr. Ryan: I would refer the Deputy to section 4 of the Dáil Éireann Loans and Funds (Amendment) Act, 1933, as amended by section 2 of the Dáil Eireann Loans and Funds (Amendment) Act, 1936, which prescribed 30 June, 1936, as the final date for making application for redemption of subscriptions to the External Loans. Applications made after that date cannot therefore be considered.
