Dáil Éireann - Volume 174 - 08 April, 1959 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Oil Refinery. Mr. McQuillan Mr. McQuillan 8 7. Mr. McQuillan asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether steps have been taken to [8] secure export markets for the products of the Cork oil refinery, as such markets are the key to the economic success of the refinery; whether it is considered that the proposed refinery in the Six Counties will have an adverse effect on the Cork refinery as regards the price of the product; and whether the Government have taken any steps in the matter. Mr. S. Lemass Mr. S. Lemass Mr. S. Lemass: The matter referred to in the first part of the Deputy's Question relates to the internal arrangements of Irish Refining Company, Limited. I have no more information about the possibility of a refinery being established in the Six Counties other than that contained in recent newspaper reports but I do not see the relevance of the matter in the context to which the Deputy refers.
