O'Higgins asked the Minister for External Affairs if he is aware that an Irish Sunday newspaper has experienced difficulties in securing the distribution of the newspaper in certain districts in England with large Irish populations; and whether he proposes to take action to ensure that Irish Sunday newspapers will enjoy the same freedom of distribution in England as English Sunday newspapers enjoy in this country. Mr. Aiken Mr. Aiken Mr. Aiken: I am aware that an Irish Sunday newspaper has experienced difficulties of the kind mentioned in the Deputy's question. I am inquiring into the matter and am in touch with the management of the newspaper concerned. Mr. M.J. O'Higgins Mr. M.J. O'Higgins Mr. M.J. O'Higgins: If the Minister's inquiries establish that the difficulties which the newspaper is experiencing have been either fostered or initiated by any association of publishers of English Sunday newspapers, will he take steps to ensure that some restriction will be placed on the English Sunday newspapers' distribution here unless equal freedom is given to Irish papers in England? An Ceann Comhairle Patrick (Clare) Hogan An Ceann Comhairle: That is surely a different matter. Dáil Éireann 171 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers.
