Mr. O'Reilly asked the Minister for Finance if any drainage scheme has been prepared for the Boyne river and its tributaries in order to relieve the severe flood damage in County Cavan; and, if so, when it is expected that the scheme will be put into operation.

Mr. Bartley: I would refer the Deputy to the reply to a question on the 10th July last which indicated that, although an engineering survey of the Boyne catchment area is in hands, it will be a considerable time before a decision can be reached in regard to the carrying out of a drainage scheme.
