Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Care of Ulster Canal.
Mr. Mooney Mr. Mooney
Mr. Mooney asked the Minister for Finance if he will arrange to have the portion of the Ulster Canal which passes through County Monaghan taken over and put into the care of the local authority, because it is in a bad condition and its bridges are dangerous.
Mr. MacEntee Mr. MacEntee
Mr. MacEntee: As indicated in the reply to a question by the Deputy on the 29th February, 1956, it was decided that a survey of the canal property should be undertaken by the Commissioners of Public Works to ascertain the extent of the problems involved. The report of the survey has now been received and is being examined.
