Mr. Everett asked the Minister for Health if he will state the number of applicants, with dependents, for medical service cards in County Wicklow who were refused following the means test and whose weekly income was (a) under £5, and (b) under £6.

Minister for Health (Mr. MacEntee): The number of applications for medical service cards in County Wicklow which were refused up to the 31st March last is 1,009.
Information is not available in my Department regarding the number of these applications in which there were dependents or the grounds upon which the applications were refused.
