Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Women's Police Force.

Mrs. Lynch asked the Minister for Justice if he will state the number of public bodies which have made representations to him concerning the establishment of a women's police [1309] force, and if, in view of such representations and the other evidence of growing public concern, he will state when he expects to be in a position to make a decision on the matter.

Minister for Justice (Mr. Everett): Requests that the appointment of women police be considered have been received from seven county and borough councils. I am unable to state when a decision as to the appointment or otherwise of women police will be made.
