Dáil Éireann - Volume 151 - 08 June, 1955 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Abbeyleix: Dispensary Doctor. Mr. Maher Mr. Maher Mr. Maher asked the Minister for Health if, in view of the grave dissatisfaction which exists among the local people, he will arrange for the appointment of a permanent dispensary doctor for the Abbeyleix dispensary district. Mr. T.F. O'Higgins Mr. T.F. O'Higgins 975 Mr. T.F. O'Higgins: The vacant post of district medical officer, Abbeyleix, is amalgamated with that of medical officer to the district hospital. The delay in filling these amalgamated posts has been due to the fact that the future hospital position in Abbeyleix was indefinite and the subject of prolonged correspondence and discussion [975] between the local authority and my Department. This matter has now reached finality and I hope to take the necessary steps in the near future to have the vacant posts filled. Dáil Éireann 151 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers.
