 Mr. Kyne asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state, in respect of all city and county managers, (a) their present salaries, including cost-of-living bonus where applicable, (b) the amounts of their last increases in salary, including cost-of-living bonus where applicable, and (c) when these increases were sanctioned by him.

Mr. O'Donnell: All managers, with the exception of the Dublin City and County Manager, are at present paid a basic salary scale of £1,250 rising by annual increments of £50 to a maximum of £1,600. A cost-of-living allowance of £325 per annum is payable in addition. Prior to the introduction of this scale managers were in receipt of various fixed salaries ranging from £1,200 to £1,500 plus a similar cost-of-living allowance. The present salary scale was fixed by Minister's Order dated 6th March, 1953, with effect from the 1st January, 1953. The present remuneration, including cost-of-living allowance, of the Dublin City and County Manager is £3,075. The salary was fixed at its present level with effect from 12th February, 1951, by Minister's Order of 16th March, 1951. Previously the remuneration of the office was £2,600.
