Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Justice if, further to my question of 25th November, he will state whether final consideration has been given to the erection of a central Garda station to include police supervision for the Gurranebraher and Spangle Hill areas in Cork; and, if so, if he can indicate when building of the station will commence.

Mr. Traynor: The building of a new Garda station for the better supervision of the Gurranebraher and Spangle Hill areas in Cork will have to await the completion of more urgent [288] works in connection with the improvement of Garda accommodation. In the meantime, inquiries are being made with a view to securing a suitable site for the proposed new station.
