Mr. O'Higgins asked the Minister for Justice if he will state (a) the number of patrol-cars equipped with radio, (b) the number of motor-cycles available for use by the Gardaí and (c) the number of Gardaí detailed for duty on such vehicles.

Mr. Boland: There are 15 patrol-cars fitted with radio. The number of Gardaí on duty with each car is two. Eleven solo motor-cycles are at present in use and eight additional machines are on order.
