Mr. A. Byrne asked the Minister for Finance if he will now state when it is proposed to pay the arbitration board's award to civil servants.

Minister for Finance (Mr. MacEntee): Instructions have been issued for the payment of the recent pay increases to civil servants at the earliest convenient date. It is expected that, in general, payment will have been made by the end of this month.
