Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fair Trade Commission.

Mr. Cosgrave asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the terms of the appointment of the persons appointed members of the Fair Trade Commission under the Restrictive Practices Act, 1953.

Mr. Lynch: The chairman and two permanent members of the Fair Trade Commission have been appointed for a period of five years from the 12th June, 1953, and hold office subject to the relevant provisions of the First Schedule to the Restrictive Practices Act, 1953. The appointments are on a whole-time basis. The chairman receives an allowance at the rate of £500 a year in addition to his Civil Service salary, and the remuneration of each of the two permanent members is at the rate of £2,000 a year.
