Mr. Keyes asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the amount of grant made available to Limerick County Council under the Local Authorities (Works) Act, 1949, in each of the three years ended 31st March, 1953, and the estimated amount to be made available in the current financial year.

Mr. Smith: The grants allocated to Limerick County Council for works under the Local Authorities (Works) Act, 1949, in each of the three years ended 31st March, 1953, were £75,000, £47,000 and £23,000, respectively. The grant for the current financial year will be approximately one-half of the 1952-53 figure.
