Murphy asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state the number of registered unemployed in Castletownbere employment exchange during the months of October, November and December, 1950 and 1951. Mr. Kennedy Mr. Kennedy Mr. Kennedy: As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report. Following is the statement:—
NOTES: (1) The dates shown are Saturdays. No count was made in respect of 22nd December, 1951 or 23rd December, 1950. (2) The increases in the Register immediately subsequent to the third week in October each year are mainly due to the return to the Register of certain classes of persons residing in rural areas, following the termination of the First and Second Employment Periods.
