Minister for Education (General Mulcahy): I move:—

That a supplementary sum not exceeding £123,000 be granted to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending 31st March, 1951, for Secondary Education, including the Teachers' Salaries Grant, Capitation Grant, Incremental Salary to Secondary School Teachers and Grant to the Secondary Teachers' Pension Fund.

This Supplementary Estimate is simply for the purpose of providing money for paying the incremental salaries to secondary teachers at the new rate introduced from 1st January, 1950.

Supplementary Estimates Nos. 2, 24, 27, 30, 41, 48, 49, 50, 51, 54, 56, 57, 67, 68 and 74 reported and agreed to.
