Mr. Cogan Mr. Cogan Mr. Cogan asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the date of the agreement with the British Government by which the price of eggs was fixed for the period commencing on 1st February, 1951, and if he will start negotiations to have that agreement revised. Mr. Dillon Mr. Dillon 405 Mr. Dillon: The agreement for the purchase of shell eggs by the British Ministry of Food as from the 1st, February, 1951, was signed in August, 1950. This agreement was signed only after very protracted and difficult negotiations with the Ministry of Food and contains the best terms for our [405] eggs which could be obtained in the circumstances at that time. As recently as last month the question of revising the price in the agreement was raised with the Ministry of Food. I would refer the Deputy also to a statement which I made recently on this matter of egg prices and which was published in the Press on the 9th of this month.
