Dáil Éireann - Volume 118 - 10 November, 1949 Order of Business. The Taoiseach John Aloysius Costello 748 [748] The Taoiseach: It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 6, 8, 1, 4 and 7. Mr. Aiken Mr. Aiken Mr. Aiken: Yesterday, I asked the permission of the Chair to raise the subject matter of Question No. 39 on yesterday's Order Paper on the Adjournment. I repeat that request now. Minister for Finance (Mr. McGilligan) Patrick McGilligan Minister for Finance (Mr. McGilligan): There is no urgency about that matter. Would the Deputy agree to raise it next week? That would suit me personally. I make that appeal to him. Mr. Aiken Mr. Aiken Mr. Aiken: Yes. Mr. Lemass Mr. Lemass Mr. Lemass: The Transport Bill has been ordered for next Wednesday in Committee. The Minister for Industry and Commerce intimated that he intends to propose rather fundamental amendments to the Bill. He has not done so yet. Other Deputies may have withheld contemplated amendments until they saw his. If the Minister cannot produce his amendments before to-morrow, I would urge that the Transport Bill be not taken on Wednesday next. The Taoiseach John Aloysius Costello The Taoiseach: I will convey the Deputy's representations to the Minister. I am sure that if any worry or trouble is caused by the official amendments not being in in time, the Minister will meet the Deputy on that. Captain Cowan Captain Cowan Captain Cowan: I would like to support Deputy Lemass on that. I, too, am waiting for the Minister's amendments. The Taoiseach John Aloysius Costello The Taoiseach: We are all together. Mr. Briscoe Mr. Briscoe Mr. Briscoe: Is the House sitting tomorrow? The Taoiseach John Aloysius Costello The Taoiseach: No. Dáil Éireann 118 Order of Business. General Debate 19491110
