Mr. Little asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the estimated acreage of (a) winter wheat, and (b) spring wheat sown this year.

Mr. Dillon: It is not possible at this stage to estimate accurately the acreage under wheat. It is anticipated, however, that the acreage will be in the region of 550,000, of which approximately 70,000 will be winter wheat.
