Mr. Blowick Mr. Blowick Mr. Blowick asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the poor reception of wireless broadcasts in Ballinrobe town and district; and if he will have inquiries made as to the causes, and take steps to have the reception improved. Mr. Little Mr. Little 596 Mr. Little: I am not aware that there is poor reception of broadcasting programmes [596] in Ballinrobe town and district and no complaints in the matter have been received. I have repeatedly stated in public that requests of this kind should be made to the Director of Broadcasting and the matter will be carefully examined and where possible reception improved. Mr. Blowick Mr. Blowick Mr. Blowick: I might inform the Minister that I have received many complaints and I can assure the Minister there is bad reception in Ballinrobe town and district due to some local trouble. I am sure if the Minister inquired into it he would find such is the case. Will he take steps to prevent it or to remedy the situation in the very near future? Mr. Little Mr. Little Mr. Little: Representations are made from time to time from different places to the Department and the Department always sends down officials to examine. Very often it is due to local interference. People who have these difficulties should write in to the Department at once and deal with the matter in that way which is far better than going to the roundabout way of bringing it up in the Dáil. Mr. Blowick Mr. Blowick Mr. Blowick: Would the Minister state if his official inquired into it as a result of this question? Mr. Little Mr. Little Mr. Little: The officials reported to me that no complaints have reached them from Ballinrobe. Mr. Dillon Mr. Dillon Mr. Dillon: Did not Joe Blowick report?
