Mr. Norton asked the Minister for Defence whether a decision has yet been arrived at in connection with the question of permitting members of the A.R.P. Service to retain the rubber boots which were supplied to them during the emergency.

Minister for Defence (Mr. Traynor): It is proposed to afford members of A.R.P. Services an opportunity of acquiring rubber boots, which were on issue to them during the emergency, on preferential terms. Local authorities concerned will be notified to this effect in the near future.
