Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - West Donegal Manure Requirements.
Mr. Breslin Mr. Breslin
Mr. Breslin asked the Minister for Agriculture if, in view of the fact that the scarcity of artificial manures has had a serious effect on agricultural productivity in the poorer tillage areas of West Donegal, he is prepared to give special consideration to the allocation of manures to these areas for the coming season.
Dr. Ryan Dr. Ryan
Dr. Ryan: The quantity of artificial fertilisers available for the present season will be approximately the same as in 1945. It is proposed, as in the past three seasons, to give special consideration to the needs of the poorer districts adjacent to the western seaboard, including West Donegal, by the distribution of a special potato fertiliser to farmers in these districts.
