Mr. Flanagan Mr. Flanagan Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Education if he has any statement to make to Dáil Éireann with reference to teachers' salaries. Minister for Education (Mr. Derrig) Thomas Derrig Minister for Education (Mr. Derrig): I have no statement to make at present regarding salary scales for national teachers. Mr. Flanagan Mr. Flanagan Mr. Flanagan: In view of the serious situation that is likely to arise as a result of a strike, which would mean the closing down of the schools—— An Ceann Comhairle Frank Fahy An Ceann Comhairle: Now, the Deputy must ask a supplementary question if he has one. I might point out that supplementaries tend to increase in length. Mr. Flanagan Mr. Flanagan Mr. Flanagan: Very well, Sir. In view of the seriousness of the position, does the Minister not think it wise to make a statement in this House as to his future action in regard to this matter?
