Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Farm Improvement Scheme.

Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state whether the Farm Improvements Scheme will be operated this year; and if he proposes to make it a permanent service, in view of the usefulness of the scheme to rural Ireland.

Dr. Ryan: Provision is being made in the Estimates for 1946-47 for the continuance of the Farm Improvements Scheme in that year. I am not in a position to state whether the scheme will be continued in any subsequent year.
