Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the reasons for the retirement of Mr. Patrick J. Bartley, County Manager for Leix and Offaly; whether any pension has been awarded [961] to Mr. Bartley for his services as County Commissioner and County Manager for Leix and Offaly; and, if so, the amount of the pension.

Mr. MacEntee: Mr. P.J. Bartley retired on reaching the age limit applicable to the position of County Manager, Laoighis and Offaly. The reply to the latter part of the question is in the negative.
