Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Post-Emergency Improvement Schemes.

[423] Tadhg O Murchadha asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state when details of the proposals for large schemes of road improvement, water supplies and other public works prepared in the post-emergency programme will be communicated to local authorities.

Mr. MacEntee: All local authorities were invited to submit schemes of public works which might be suitably undertaken in the post-emergency period. Schemes have been received for road improvement, public health and other works. A number of these schemes have already been approved, others are under examination. As these schemes have been formulated by the local authorities themselves, the question of communicating details of the works to the local bodies does not arise.
