Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Removal of Cowls on Public Lights.

Mr. M.E. Dockrell asked the Minister for the Co-ordination of Defensive Measures if he will have the cowls on the public lights in the City of Dublin removed.

Minister for the Co-ordination of Defensive Measures (Mr. Aiken): Cowls have been removed from a large number of the lamps in the City of Dublin. The City Manager will be authorised to remove the remainder shortly.

Mr. M.E. Dockrell: Could the Minister say when that will be?

Mr. Aiken: It is in the course of being done at the moment.

Mr. Dillon: Is the Minister in a position to say when he will give similar permission to other places?

Mr. Aiken: What applies to Dublin will apply generally throughout the country.

Mr. Dillon: Then they can take them down?

Mr. Aiken: I mean that they will be authorised to do that shortly.
