Mr. T. O'Reilly asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has caused representations to be made to Córas Iompair Éireann with a view to the reopening of the Mullingar-Cavan railway line and the Crossdoney-Killeshandra line at an early date; and, if not, if he will consider doing so, in view of the local importance of this matter to all concerned who are anxious to have both branch lines reopened as soon as possible.

Mr. Lemass: The supply position does not, at present warrant the resumption of the services which have been suspended on the railway lines to which the Deputy refers.
