Mr. Briscoe asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the expected final cost of the Poulaphouca scheme and what percentage of increase the final cost will bear to the original estimated cost.

Mr. Lemass: The estimated final cost of the Poulaphouca scheme is approximately £1,272,000. It is estimated that the final cost will exceed the original estimate by something over 60 per cent. A portion of this increase is due to an expansion of the original project.
