Mr. Byrne Mr. Byrne Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Finance if he will state when the Dáil will be asked to make the necessary financial provision, referred to in his statement of 5th February, for compensating those who suffered loss or damage through bombing. Minister for Finance (Mr. O Ceallaigh) Seán T. O'Kelly Minister for Finance (Mr. O Ceallaigh): The Dáil will be asked to vote the money required for the payment of compensation in respect of injuries to persons and property caused by the dropping of bombs from foreign aircraft and kindred incidents as soon as legislation in connection with the matter has been enacted. I hope to have the Bill ready for introduction soon. Mr. O'Neill Mr. O'Neill Mr. O'Neill: Would the Minister say if that will cover property damaged on sea as well as on land? Mr. O Ceallaigh Mr. O Ceallaigh Mr. O Ceallaigh: I will have to look into that point. Mr. Hurley Mr. Hurley Mr. Hurley: I take it that this covers also consequential loss—that is, goods and so on. Mr. O Ceallaigh Mr. O Ceallaigh Mr. O Ceallaigh: No consequential losses will be included. Mr. Hurley Mr. Hurley Mr. Hurley: I mean that, where houses are damaged, the goods damaged in the houses will be covered? Mr. O Ceallaigh Mr. O Ceallaigh Mr. O Ceallaigh: Property will be covered.
