Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Beet.
Mr. Corry Mr. Corry
Mr. Corry asked the Minister for Finance whether in view of the abnormal costs to be met by beet growers this year over and above the costs taken into consideration in the fixing of the price of beet for the year, he will be prepared to give favourable consideration to a case presented on behalf of the beet growers for a revision of prices.
Minister for Finance (Mr. O Ceallaigh) Seán T. O'Kelly
Minister for Finance (Mr. O Ceallaigh): I am not aware of any abnormal costs to be met by beet growers over and above those taken into consideration in the fixing of the price of beet for this year. The effect of war conditions on the growers' costs was fully taken into account in fixing that price. The second part of the question does not, therefore, arise.
