Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dundrum Criminal Lunatic Asylum.

Mr. O'Brien (for Mr. Heron) asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if, in view of the fact that the appointments of additional attendants at the Dundrum Criminal Lunatic Asylum for which a Supplementary Estimate was passed on February 3rd, have not yet been made, he will sanction the payment of overtime to the present members of the staff for any additional hours worked over 56 hours per week.

Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Local Government and Public Health (Dr. Ward): The arrangements for reduction in working hours are to take effect from the time additional staff is appointed. No payment of overtime to existing staff can be authorised in the meantime.
