Mr. McGilligan Mr. McGilligan 1900 Mr. McGilligan asked the Minister for Education if he will take steps to [1900] ensure that payment of the first quarter's Incremental Salary due by his Department to Secondary Teachers on 31st October last will be made immediately. Minister for Education (Mr. Derrig) Thomas Derrig Minister for Education (Mr. Derrig): Steps are being taken to ensure the payment of Incremental Salary to Secondary Teachers at the earliest possible date. It is not expected that payment in respect of the first quarter of the current school year will be made at a later date than in previous years. Mr. McGilligan Mr. McGilligan Mr. McGilligan: Does not the Minister recognise the necessity for earlier payment this year than in previous years, when he considers the burden of taxation, equivalent to £280,000,000, that is being put upon this community.
