Trustee Bill, 1931—Report Stage.

Mr. Fitzgerald-Kenney: I move that the Bill be received for final consideration.

Mr. Little: Possibly the Minister may have got the information for which I asked him on Second Reading. I asked [1131] him what were the institutions that would come under this Bill and, generally, how much money and property it covers.

Mr. Fitzgerald-Kenney: I have not got the information as I told the Deputy, nor did I think it necessary to endeavour to make a search as to what particular charities require this Bill. That a considerable number do is sufficient for me.

Mr. Little: Can the Minister say whether, when the Act is in operation, some list could be kept of the institutions which come under the operation of the Act?

Mr. Fitzgerald-Kenney: Any institution will come under the Act in which a person holding an office now abolished was trustee ex officio for the particular charity or body as it was and the Court records will show the trustees appointed.

Mr. Little: My view was that something of the sort should be laid on the Table of the House.

Mr. Fitzgerald-Kenney: I cannot see the advantage of that.

Question put and agreed to.

Fifth Stage to be taken on Wednesday.
