Dáil Éireann - Volume 33 - 13 March, 1930 Defence Forces (Temporary Provisions) Bill, 1930—Report Stage. Question—“That the Bill be received for final consideration”— put and declared carried. Minister for Defence (Mr. Fitzgerald) Desmond FitzGerald 1799 Minister for Defence (Mr. Fitzgerald): I think that there will be no objection to taking the Fifth Stage of this Bill now. It has to be [1799] through by the end of this month. The Bill was very adequately discussed on Second Reading, and it actually comprises nothing new. Mr. Aiken Mr. Aiken Mr. Aiken: This is rather rushed. We did not get any notice that the Fifth Stage of the Bill was to be taken to-day. It could be taken tomorrow. Mr. Fitzgerald Mr. Fitzgerald Mr. Fitzgerald: The Deputy will understand that there is a rush. This is the 13th March. The Bill has to be through by the end of this month, and it has to go to the Seanad. As I say, it comprises nothing new. Mr. Aiken Mr. Aiken Mr. Aiken: I think it would do to-morrow just as well as to-day. Objection taken. Fifth Stage ordered for Friday, March 14th.
