Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Income of Old Age Pension Applicants.

Mr. G. Boland (for Mr. F.H. Crowley) asked the Minister for Finance whether he will direct local pension officers when calculating the source of income of applicants for old age pensions from rural areas to take into consideration the current market prices for farm produce in their respective districts.

Mr. Fitzgerald (for Minister for Finance): Pension officers are required under Departmental Instructions to take into consideration in estimating means derived from the occupation of land the current local market prices of stock and farm produce.
