Mr. T. MURPHY (for Eamon O Dubhghaill) asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he can state what percentage of Irish coal is now being used in public institutions.

MINISTER for LOCAL GOVERNMENT and PUBLIC HEALTH (Mr. Burke): I have no information as to the percentage of Irish coal used in institutions in An Saorstát, as all orders are forwarded direct by the institution to the collieries, but the following institutions use a percentage of Irish coal: —
South Dublin Union.
Kilkenny Mental Hospital.
Portlaoighise Mental Hospital.
Ballinasloe ,, ,,
Sligo ,, ,,
Kilkenny City Hospital.
,, County Home.
Abbeyleix District Hospital.

My Department has entered into a contract with the Arigna Collieries for  the supplying of coal to institutions at the following places at specially low rates: —
Dublin, Sligo, Athlone, Mullingar, Roscommon, Ballinasloe, Westport, Galway, Limerick, Ennis, Cavan, Longford, Castlerea, Castlebar, Carrick-on-Shannon, and Manorhamilton.
