RISTEARD MAC FHEORAIS RISTEARD MAC FHEORAIS RISTEARD MAC FHEORAIS asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state why payment of an old age pension has been discontinued to John White, Kilmore Quay, County Wexford. Mr. BURKE Mr. BURKE Mr. BURKE: This man had been in receipt of a pension under the Blind Persons Act since early in 1922, and not under the Old Age Pensions Acts. 1654 A question was raised by the pension officer, and an examination of Mr. White's eyesight was made on the 10th ultimo by one of the Department's medical inspectors. On the medical evidence, including the inspector's report, it was held on the 21st ultimo that Mr. White does not fulfil the statutory condition as to blindness, and a formal [1654] decision to that effect has been given and issued.
