TOMAS MAC EOIN asked the Minister for Finance if he can state what was the total quantity of excisable liquor consumed in the Saorstát during the year 1924 under the heads of beer, spirits, cider and foreign wine.

MINISTER for FINANCE (Mr. Blythe): The total quantities of beer, spirits, cider and foreign wine delivered for home consumption in Saorstát Eireann in the calendar year 1924 were:—Beer, 878,970 standard barrels; spirits, 1,022,051 proof gallons; cider, 103,916 gallons; foreign wine, 898,086 gallons.
