TOMAS DE NOGLA TOMAS DE NOGLA TOMAS DE NOGLA asked the Minister for Justice if he will state if, and when, it is proposed to instruct the Commissioner of the Gárda Síochána to appoint Inspectors of Weights and Measures for the various districts of Co. Cork, and whether new standards have yet been procured for the county. Mr. O'HIGGINS Mr. O'HIGGINS Mr. O'HIGGINS: Inspectors of Weights and Measures have been appointed from the Gárda Síochána for the districts of County Cork—one being allocated to Cork East Riding, one to Cork West Riding, and one to Cork City. 209 A large quantity of standards was destroyed in County Cork, and the contractor, though working at high pressure, has not yet been able to replace [209] the losses. In the case of Cork City, special representations were made to the contractor by the Department of Industry and Commerce, with the result that the local standards have been verified for the city. It is expected that the local standards for the county will be ready shortly. Mr. NAGLE Mr. NAGLE Mr. NAGLE: Is the Minister satisfied that three would be sufficient for Cork County? Mr. O'HIGGINS Mr. O'HIGGINS Mr. O'HIGGINS: If three are found to be insufficient more will be appointed. Dáil Éireann 8 CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. INSPECTORS OF WEIGHTS AND MEASURES FOR CO.
