PADRAIG K. O hOGAIN asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that men are being enlisted in the National Army who had made contracts for the year with farmers, and without getting references from their last employers to see that they were free to enlist; and whether he is aware of the inconvenience caused to farmers by men being taken away from them in the middle of the season.

The PRESIDENT: I am not aware of those matters, and I feel certain that no men are being induced by recruiters to break contracts of employment.
