CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - WOUNDED EX-CAPTAIN'S ARMY PENSION.
SEÁN O LAIDHIN SEÁN O LAIDHIN
SEÁN O LAIDHIN asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that several applications for a pension have been made by ex-Captain Naughton, c/o William Kennedy, Monksland. Athlone; that this Officer, who attested on March 3rd, 1922. and who was demobilised on November 27th 1923, was wounded on July 24th, 1922, and whether a decision in this case will be expedited.
The PRESIDENT The PRESIDENT
The PRESIDENT: I regret the delay in disposing of Mr. Naughton's claim. It has been due to the difficulty of providing for the medical examination. necessarily a slow matter, of a large number of applicants for wound pensions. Mr. Naughton will be examined by a Medical Board on the 25th instant. A decision will be arrived at shortly afterwards. There was only one Medical Board dealing with the work, and we have made arrangements within the past week or fortnight to have three Medical Boards sitting.
